DIARY

12th April 3am - SAD NOTE- We lost pup No 6 early in the AM.

13th April 5am - Despite 24/7 care, we sadly lost pup No 4 this morning. This one was particularly devastating for us as she seemed to be doing well, but her health rapidly dropped and she consequently died, even though she was still feeding well.

We're bottle feeding them every two hours to eKen & Kerry Viviannsure they get enough nourishment, then supplementing by putting them onto Maggie for awhile.

Unfortunately as a consequence of the c-section we think, the first day or two Maggie wasn't too keen on the puppies at all and it was a real battle to hold her down for the pups to feed. That situation has done a complete about turn though and Maggie is now a loving mum enjoying her little furry gremlins. She will let them suckle now, but she doesnt seem to be producing enough milk, so therefore thats why we're doing the bottle feeding.

13th April 8am - The 7 remaining pups are looking fat and contented. The two smallest of the litter seem to be doing exceptionally well.

14th April 8am - We had an extremely good night with the 7 pups. Maggie is doing extremely well with the pups now after her intially ignoring them. We decided to change the first girls name to Kasey - and its still looking like we'll keep her.

14th April 9-20pm - All going extremely well. Maggie is being a great mum now.

16th April 7-20pm - Nothing new to add about the litter as a whole. They're still going extremely well.

16th April - We would just like to acknowledge our appreciation to the many other Mini Bull Terrier breeders that are contacting us and giving their best wishes.

We're amazed at the friendliness and advice/help that people are willing to offer as we begin our breeding program.

If any of those people would like to for us to add their webpage link from our site to theirs, please feel free to drop us an email. We also do web design as a part time business - and we're happy to offer free advice and assistance to ANY of those kind people that have emailed us.

SPECIAL mention here must go to Julie Willams of Minibrook Kennels who has gone above and beyond in her assistance to us with this litter. Shes been an absolute GEM taking 3am phone calls from us, helping at the birth and providing never ending aid. We couldn't have done it without you Julie.

Another MONSTER mention for the fantastic support of Melissa Allen who is puppy-sitting for us whilst we're at work. Melissa, again, we couldn't have done it without you.

Others that have been inspiring in their help and time they are giving us are Trevor & Gillian Costello, Pauline Moore, Gail Allen, Danielle & Margaret Kirkham of Clemkirk Kennels and Kerry's mum Robyn Collins. Guys....you ALL know what we've gone through in the first week and we sincerely appreciate all the help.

22nd April 6-00pm - All is still going terrific. We've recently discovered a little black patch above Phoebe's right eye. The pups are feeding extremely well and we've extended their feeds out a little now as they've all got big fat bellies. Maggie is REALLY looking after them now. If you dont see her in the webcam..shes usually only a foot away off to the right of the computer

23rd April 7-30pm - We're astounded at how quickly they're growing and how much weight they're gaining.  We've spead them out to 4 hourly bottle feeds, with Maggie supplementing whenever she gets the urge.  Maggie definitely hasn't got enough milk to sustain the puppies on her own.

25th April 11-30am - Noticing the pups all starting to try and walk now. They're lifting themselves up and kinda shuffling around a little bit.

1st May 3-30pm - Most of the pups are opening their eyes now.  Nikki is leading the way and Dixie is lagging behind.  They're all KINDA walking and are getting a lot more demanding.  Trying to SUCKLE on anything they can get their mouths on.

4th May 7-30pm - First feed on solids tonight.  They had some weet-bix and LOVED it. Weaning them off the bottle.

8th May 7-30pm - Introducing the puppies to the BARF diet. They're all being a little fussy with different things at the moment - but the one thing that they DO love is the raw mince.  They're starting to be a bit more work in the 'toilet' area now too (god help us).  Maggie is doting over them a WHOLE lot more at the moment. All of them are VERY smoochy and love a cuddle and a snuggle on the couch in front of the tv.  (nahh..Im not going to say Lassie is their favourite show....though they do like the dog out of the Simpsons)

15th May 4.30pm - Had a great week with the pups - they're getting easier to look after and they're LOVING their solids etc.

We're monitoring a couple of the pups very closely for any hearing issues at the moment.  Its darn hard to get them to react at the best of times -especially when the little gremlins want to sleep - but there is maybe one that seems to be not as alert in that area.  Tests at vets coming up next week. Unfortunately hearing problems in white bull terriers is somewhat common place - but TOUCH WOOD, everything will be fine.

29th May 4.30pm - Probably our last post in this section before the puppies go.  Most will be on their way next weekend.  Its all pretty exciting and at the same time sad.  We'll miss these little treasures.

5th June 5.30pm - Three of the puppies have gone off to their new homes this weekend.  Phoebe, Nikki & Cooper have ventured off to start their new lives.  Barnesy is going tomorrow, Kasey is on her way to Canberra then to NSW with Kerry next weekend, then Nina is jumping on a jet the following Monday to head off to sunny Brisbane.

Its all been a wonderful experience for us.  A ton of work, but 2 tons of pleasure. We're going to miss everyone of the little gremlins for sure.

I won't be posting anymore pics of the puppies on this page for a bit, but as the new owners send me in pics over the months/years, I will find post those somewhere here in the site.

Thanks to everyone that has supported the webcam, I'm not too sure what I'm going to do with that.  It may be that I keep it going and have it pointing out into the yard where Maggie and Dixie will be kept. Any input you guys that are reading this will have on the matter 'could' help me decide what I'm going to do.

Getting back to the webcam, its been amazing.  In 7 weeks of it being up and running, theres been 36,200 hits until today.  That is UNREAL!!  Thanks again.

We will be possibly having another litter this time next year....then a 2 year break and another (with Dixie probably).  I WILL run the webcam definitely for these events!  KEEP OUR WEBSITE BOOKMARKED!!!

Geez we're going to miss these little guys.

We're probably going to keep this one ourselves. This one is the biggest of the litter at birth also.

14th April - Doing very very well. Only prob we have with her is that shes a real guts with her bottle...sucks faster than she can swallow.

15th April - As of today shes the biggest...hungriest...noisiest. For a girl - we don't think shes got a face as pretty as Phoebe or Nina - but shes sure a character. Maybe the black markings are taking away for some of her 'girlish charms and looks'.

22nd April - This little girl is going very well. Shes probably the boss of the whelping box.

1st May - Bossy britches.  Absolutely frantic at meal times.  Seems to be wanting to stir the other puppies up in the box.  May be last to open her eyes totally it looks like.

8th May - AS per usual, keeping our hands full.  Shes looking for ways to escape the box - eats more than any of the others and is always looking to get up to mischief.

15th May - Proving she is the naughtiest still.  Is very entertaining and is doing very well.

14th April - Doing fantastic at this stage. He's one of two that are the ones we're most likely to find roaming around in the whelping box. A real little hitchhiker he is.

15th April - Proving to be a guts on the teat...and also a bit of a 'talker' - he's been having a bit to say.

22nd April - Cooper is a stunning little puppy. Very active..very hungry and very noisy.

1st May - Finding this one to be the smoochiest of the lot.  Loves being handled.  VERY good appetite but can be a bit awkard to feed at times with the bottle - LOVES the boob though.  Seems to be reacting to noise too.

8th May - Been a bit fussy with his food the last 48 hours.  An absolute little honey who loves snuggling.

15th May - Loving his solid foods. Was prancing around in the loungeroom today cracking everyone up.  Still a sweetheart.

[11th April] - Beautiful little girl. Had a few problems at birth but looking good now. Has a few problems finding the nipple as shes too eager to get there and hangs on for grim death when she finds it.

[14th April] - She amazes us this one. Shes going along like a real little champion. Loves her tucker. Was found today crawling half way across the bedroom floor. We're amazed how she got out of the whelping box and made so much distance. Shes getting to be our second favourite amongst the girls.

22nd April - Beautiful little girl with a gorgeous face

1st May - Was the first with her eyes open. Pixie like face still.  Gorgeous gorgeous little girl.  Great feeder and cuts on her back are healing fantastic.

8th May - Still Kens favourite girl.  Gorgeous and can always be found with her feet IN the food bowl.  NO table manners this little lady.

15th May - Got a mark and a scratch - seems if shes been in her first fight!  Scars on her back all but gone.  Is doing great.

[14th April] -This pup is one of the cutest ones in the litter. Shes got a real cute little face and pixie ears. Doing very very well at the moment. We nearly lost this one in the first few days...but some tender nursing and care has got her looking fantastic.

22nd April - Discovered a black mark over her eye that had somehow eluded us a little.

1st May - Very fussy on the bottle - loves the boob though. Slow with eyes opening.  Is quite mobile and active. Beautiful.

8th May - Still fussy with the bottle - though they are just about off that now.  Loves sleeping on your lap.

15th May - Not the biggest eater in the litter.  A real little sweetheart that is still enjoying cuddles.  Is doing a LOT of sooking at the moment when she wants OUT of the box.

[14th April] - This little boy is a strong, fat, healthy puppy at the moment.

15th April - Looking great...one of the three biggest puppies at the moment.

22nd April - The second boy and an eating machine. BOTH boys are fantastic looking puppies.

1st May - Very very good feeder on bottle and boob. Eyes are open...frantic for the bottle.  Walking pretty good when he wants.

4th May - Has a lot of personality

8th May - This boy CAN eat!!  Also noisey and loves to play.

15th May - He's the big boy of the litter and has developed to be probably the second most playful after Dixie.

[14th April] - Well it had to happen. With so many white puppies, I've forgotten which one this is. Sorry..no update.

15th April - Not noticing this lovely little girl too much. She enjoys her feeds...but is very quiet and un-assuming. Not a show off like Dixie.

22nd April - Probably the quiestest in the litter - but definitely good with her food.

1st May - Still the quietest we thing (maybe after Cooper). Excellent with feeding and has the sweetest little face. Eyes not really open yet

8th May - Was funny tonight, Kerry had this one revved up and he was growling and playing away with her as she rubbed Kaseys tummy.  A good eater and a pretty girl.

15th May - Gorgeous gorgeous girl.  Pics this week of her come out very well.  Loves her solids and isn't a big whinger like a couple of the others.

Smallest of the litter at birth - cute as a button.
Doing extremely well now. Loves her bottle and is still looking a touch smaller than 5 of the others. Her and Phoebe look nearly identical.

22nd April - This little girl is kicking a million goals. Shes an active little thing with a very cute face.

1st May - Eyes open..great feeder also. Very active and cute little girl.

8th May - One of the sweethearts of the litter. Loves her tucker and is spending a lot of time being spoilt by us.

15th May - Doing well - pretty little girl who has dveloped a big appetite. Curls up inside the blanket on my study desk and snoozes away happily
